Managed to get my hands on this months Quickstrike release from Nike SB, the Nike SB Dunk Low x Ben-G.
The shoes are a collab with Amsterdam-based skate shop Ben-G.
These feature a mostly white upper covered in embossed mini-swooshes with no large swoosh on the side. The tongue tag, aglets and insoles feature a graphic with a black/red/green palette, with the insoles and lace tips also showcasing mini-swooshes. The included laces are both white; one set is flat and the other is a traditional SB lace. Similar to the Parra QS, these have the old eyelet construction, with the bottom two eyelets going over the toebox sidepanel instead of under.
I wasn’t feeling these when pics first surfaced, but I grabbed them after getting a bit of FOMO. Now that I have them in hand, I’m glad I got them! The materials are nice enough, and the shoe looks so clean in person!
How Are The Materials?
The materials are pretty much an entire leather upper covered in the embossed swooshes. The leather, while not super premium, is quite good and fairly soft and flexible. Overall, I think materials fiends will find this pair perfectly acceptable with respect to the leather, given what type of sneaker this is.
How Do They Fit?
At a half size up, these Nike SB Dunk Low x Ben-G are comfortable for me. I used to go true to size (i.e. same size as Air Jordan 1s) on SB’s and try to break them in, but the break-in time often resulted in hurt pinky toes. With a half size up, while they fit slightly big, the soreness is not there and they require no break in time (for me).
